Pharmacy being a practical course the college has provided 14 spacious and modern Laboratories.

Pharmaceutics Department:-

  • Pharmaceutics - I
  • Pharmaceutics   - II

Pharmaceutics: A branch that deals with production of any formulation from New Chemical Entity (NCE) or any old drug to be used safely and effectively in patients is Pharmaceutics. It is a science of designing a new dosage form. This department is continuously remain engaged in research and academic activities. The department includes research in direction of

  1. Preformulation studies
  2. Development of different pharmaceutical dosage forms including novel and nanotechnology based drug delivery systems,
  3. Evaluation of developed dosage forms with respect to various in vitro and in vivo parameters and
  4. Studying the biopharmaceutical and pharmacokinetic aspects of the drug as well as its dosage forms.

Thus, this field encourages young scientists towards new ways of development in pharmaceuticals.

Pharmacology Department:-

  • Pharmacology Lab.

Department of Pharmacology

It is the science that deals with the study of drugs, including their origin, nature, chemistry, uses and beneficial and adverse effects. It includes the study of substances that bind to regulatory molecules and activate or inhibit normal body processes."

The word pharmacology is derived from two Greek words:

  • pharmakos meaning "drug" and
  • logos meaning "study or reasoning"

The department fosters independent but interactive research programs leading to the discovery of new drugs that will impact prevention or treatment of disease. It embraces knowledge of the sources, chemical properties, biological effects and therapeutic uses of drugs.

The branches of pharmacology are

  • Clinical pharmacology
  • Neuropharmacology
  • Pharmacogenetics
  • Cardiovascular pharmacology
  • Pharmacoepidemiology
  • Toxicology
  • Psychopharmacology etc.

If you feel a sense of excitement and enthusiasm about understanding drug action, and how drugs may be used to probe the physiological and biochemical processes of life, you should explore pharmacology.

Department of Pharmacognosy

Pharmacognosy is one of the five major divisions of the pharmaceutical curriculum, represents the oldest branch of the profession of pharmacy. The ancients gathered herbs, animals, plants, and minerals and concocted them into ill-flavored pungent mixtures.Department of Pharmacognosy has several areas of specialization such as Photochemistry, Natural Products Synthesis, Biotechnology and Cell Culture, Marine Natural Product Chemistry, Standardization of Herbs and Herbarium. WHO has estimated that majority of all the global inhabitants depend on curative natural systems of medicine for their primary health needs and these systems are largely of traditional origin. The department of Pharmacognosy focuses on research based on evaluation of medicinal plants including isolation, purification, identification and structural elucidation of bioactive molecules and development & standardization of herbal formulations. For the systematic study of crude drugs and research point of view we have developed a medicinal herbal garden. This herbal garden has more than 30 medicinal herbs. It’s showing itself beauty and quality of department.
